It has been rumored for some time that HMD Global is about to launch a second flagship device by the end of 2017. There were few alleged images that were posted on various blogs, but now we have an official image with this device. These images have been published by an Amazon accessories manufacturer, so the source is pretty credible.
Nokia 9 will benefit from a glass construction (front / rear gorilla glass panel) with a metal frame. The front face of the phone features an 18:9 AMOLED display with curved edges, just like the Samsung Galaxy S8. From what we can see in these images, the phone does not have a Home button. The fingerprint sensor is moved behind the phone, right under the dual camera. Let’s get to the camera. It seems like the camera is bumped, just like the one on iPhone X. The smartphone will “dance” on the flat surfaces.
Nokia 9 will run Android Oreo and will have a USB-C port that allows fast charging and possibly wireless charging. The device is waterproof.
We expect HMD Global to announce the Nokia 9 smartphone by the end of this year. If not, it will probably be announced at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 in Las Vegas, in January (2018).
This is how the new flagship from Nokia looks like!
